Interrail: Next one France

Let’s continue this marvellous Interrail trip. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you should check out the previous post from this link.

So talking about France. Not just lovely Paris, that you can’t help but love. First city was this lovely warm Nice. Hostel was fine and beach perfect. We both did some swimming and lots of sun bathing. Just perfect weather and I was suprised that Nice isn’t a big Place, quite small actually.

I heard that French people are rude and not really helpful, but that isn’t reality in Nice. We were littlebit lost and before we could ask anything, there were couple of really nice French men who asked if we needed help and then they gave us the direction to our Hostel.

From Nice we were supposed to go to see European canyons, but we had some trouble and ended missing that. We went to this small ’only French’ speaking little town on the mountain and tried to find the way, but we got to know that you have to rent a car and drive almost half hour to the Place, sadly we didn’t have time.

We continued going to south of France and stopped on Toulon. I really liked being there, so close to sea. We tried to find a beach, but the Place was just a big port, and later we found out that we need to take a cheap boat to beach. But we had some fun there! Our lovely hotel was next to Irish pub, and which is more fun that Irish pub. We played some pool and talked to strangers.

On the Morning we packed our bags and started our long train trip to Dijon. Why Dijon? You may wonder. Well we had a plan to go to France and to wine tasting. Quess what! We did that. We had a amazing day at the Bourgogne wineyards with out handsome quideguy and this perfect old Australian couple. Wine was amazing! I’m not big fan of red wine, because usually it’s so bitter, but I changed my mind about French wine, so delicious! It was fun to see the wine cellers and hear about the history of wine.

Last stop in France was of course beautiful Paris. It’s pure magic. Our Hotel was a sad and strange place, but we used it only for sleeping so it was okay. After changing our clothes we went right away to find the Eiffel tower. I thought it was smaller that I was expecting, but still amazing. Magic of Paris was this: on our way to Eiffel tower, there was people dancing randomly slow music playing on the background. It was wonderfull see the people who were passing By, just stopped and started to dance as well.

There were also amazing band little further away and I lost myself in the music. I’m really going there again, maybe with someone really special. We didn’t see much of Paris because we arrived so late and left pretty early. We left to this city where we took a ferry to England.
